Toni,Toni,Toni, exactly how much time have you spent on this site in the design mode? Multiply that times 26.00/hr and then pass out! Anyways I'm up here in Dearborn, Mi having a great time and learnig gas turbine technology. I am across the street from Henry Ford's original assembly plant site. I'm currently attending a really good church - www.troybaptist.org and have once again landed in a great singles class. I will be getting DSL next week and at that point I will design a web site that I can upload pics to , so it will be fun and I will try to use some of your ideas. Oh yeah , the Deadskins still stink ! Love G

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit my website. What did you think of it? Interesting, boring?? So your new to sportscard collecting, huh? Well I'll tell you missy your in for quite a ride so buckle up and hang on. There are so many different angles that you can concentrate on when collecting, you can collect a certain team, player, manufacturer, set, series. You might just want to collect players from a certain college, who wear a certain jersey number, a favorite name, as you can see the list goes on and on and on. What ever piques your interest is what you should persue, but what ever you choose to follow, try not to deviate from your "game plan" or you won't have enough money to pay your rent! Another important factor you must consider is weather or not you want to collect to keep or to collect to turn around and sell for a profit. When I first started out in 95' I collected anything and everything, which got me broke in a hurry and boxes of cards that totaled about 50,000. After going thru all my cards I decided that I was going to focus my collecting energy and finances on one player, a player by the way, that I had 150 different cards of. That player, Brett Favre. This continued for the next 2 years. When my wife and I decided to move to Ohio I sold my Favre collection to generate moving money. Unfortunately living in Charlotte at the time, no one wanted to give me very much for my collection. I now had over 700 different Favre cards, with a high Beckkett price of $4,800.00 All I could get was $1,100.00. What a disappointment. So when we arrived here I started collecting again but this time I chose Robert Brooks. Also a Packer but no where near as costly. When I found out that Brooks was the ONLY player that my youngest daughter liked, I gave her the collection as an early Christmas present. By the way the total cards in that collection was about 240 cards, also all different no to alike. I'm now on my third collection, which is up over 525 cards and growing everyday. All I collect now are cards that have a number one (1) on the back. I'm not concerned who the player is just that the card is numbered one. I've got top rookies, no names, superstars, commons, inserts, diecuts, autographs, serials, a little bit of everything. So i guess skys the limit what you want to collect. The main ingredient though is never lose your passion. (Man I talk alot, sorry). Start hangin out at a sportscard store that you feel comfortable in, get to know the owner, employees, customers. You'll pick up on interesting tidbits and get the latest info on upcoming products, sales. Maybe even stumble upon a special bargain to add to your collection. Always try to trade for something rather than buying the item. Pick up a copy of Beckett Pricing Guide for whatever sport your interested in. Has lots of good info for novice an expert alike. All this should keep you busy for awhile. Let me know what happens as you hone your collecting skills. Have a great week! Big Al

Toni- What a great website! And what great photos, especially of your parents. Your Mom was so young to be gone. I saw your homepage address on the mds/aa list. I lost my Dad 5/19/99 and he became ill 9/98 with mds. We took him in 1/99 to your great state for treatment at MD Anderson which was succesful but short lived. Followed up thru counts out and another follow up his kidneys shut down. My Mom still is not doing well. I hope your Dad is in better shape. Even though Mom has total faith and besides family we belong to an incredible small catholic church where there is much support, she still has trouble. Can't imagine going thru all this with no faith. It's what helped my Dad fight and helped him peacefully leave this earth. Never knew just how strong Dad was, it was amazing.. Hugs-- Kathy

Toni, Very nice Web site. We are thinking about trying to put something together, especially because so many of our friends have moved to other parts of the country. Perhaps with some effort, it will look as great as yours!? It sounds as though missions is a major part of your life. Our church, Heritage Baptist, is very strong on missions and, I have to say, our annual missions conference is beyond compare. If we happen to remember how to find your Homestead again, we will let you know whenever our site goes up. God bless you! David and Joanne
